Road trip to Phoenix

Meeting Sniffers

Well our first long road trip was a great success! Rachel is an excellent traveler and made the 6 hour drive with mommy without one complaint. Mommy is so proud of her! Upon arriving at Auntie Melissa's house in Phoenix she met her new best friend, Lady Sniffers. It was love at first sight for both Rachel and Sniffers, it might help that they are about the same size and both incredibly adorable!

Time to Baby Proof!!

Seems like every time I turned around today she was "scooting" her way over to something else she shouldn't be getting into. She pulled the puzzle out all by herself and the cords sure are delicious! Daddy needs to get to work baby proofing...like yesterday!

Another Failed Attempt

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a gagger on our hands! I'm convinced this little girl has a very sensitive gag reflex. She came into this world gagging on and throwing up what seems like gallons of milk and true to form she has continued this "habit" with finger foods. It seems Rachel does not share the same love of food as her mother because nothing seems to interest her and I would even go so far as to say it repulses her. We have tried everything from cottage cheese to cheesy poofs (yum) and all have caused a self induced UGGGHHHH....gag and then throw up all that is in the mouth. We will continue to plug away at it and post updates as little

Roo hopefully develops into a normal eater.

Seems Crazy to me that anyone would hate cheesy poofs but what do I know! This is the same baby who puts EVERYTHING in her mouth! Food, oh no, that doesn't go in the mouth, crazy mommy.

At the tender age of 8 months my darling little daughter has learned how to make margaritas and drink beer. She is well on her way to becoming the sorority girl that Daddy wants her to be!

New Bag of Tricks

Rachel has always been giggle happy and has a nice little baby laugh, recently she has learned that if she laughs, it makes mommy laugh. She has gotten good at forcing out a fake laugh, especially when she wants to get out of going to bed, since this usually leads to a baby and mommy giggle fest. This happens before bedtime every night.

Of course, she is also very ticklish and in the video mommy is making her laugh. Among her other new tricks are sticking out her tongue and blowing, drooling and lots of babbles. I think we are getting close to hearing a DaDa!

Apparently, she also makes herself laugh because when I played the video back and she heard herself laughing she started cracking up! I wish I had gotten that! Next time maybe.

My First Mother's Day

Rachel and Mommy had a great first Mother's Day together. Daddy got up early and made breakfast, yum! After Rachel Roo's nap we walked to Del Mar Trails Park where Rachel rode the swings. We sure have a little thrill seeker on our hands, she wasn't happy unless the swing was going as high and as fast as possible! After another nap we headed out for a sushi dinner Rachel had a bottle :( sorry, no sushi yet.

Happy Birthday Rachel-8 months

Who can believe that my little Rachel Roo is 8 months old today?! She is doing so great and growing like a weed, she has outgrown all her 6 month old clothes and is packing on the pounds. She is scooting all over the place but not crawling...yet. She can sit up by herself and EVERYTHING goes in her mouth. Rachel has one tiny little front bottom tooth that is starting to poke through, you can't see it as much as you can feel it but I know it's there. She is a very happy little girl and she loves to laugh. She is eating lots of fruits and veggies but no fingers foods yet, she is not interested in them. She really still prefers the bottle to anything but we'll get there!
